Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with IDD in their homes and communities in and around Wilmington, NC. The role involves assisting with daily tasks, personal care, and transportation, while documenting care in the client’s health system.

The position offers on-going training, a flexible schedule from Monday to Friday, and opportunities to grow within an inclusive nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• entry-level, on-the-job training is provided
• high school diploma or GED is required
• basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols
• interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability are a must!
• proficiency with EHR systems or technically savvy to learn
• DSPs must have reliable transportation, driver’s license, and current auto insurance

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home of the individual and their community
• Assist with housekeeping, meals, cooking, and cleaning; personal care incl. bathing and dressing; support employment
• Transport client to appointments and run errands
• Help plan and organize client schedule
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record
