Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in North Carolina is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work in home and community settings with individuals who have IDD or mental health challenges. You will assist with daily living tasks, personal care, meal prep, transportation, and schedule management, while maintaining documentation in the health system and upholding person-centered care principles.

Qualifications

• 1 year of direct care experience, personal care and/or CNA experience, preferred
• Must complete and maintain our training curriculum, which includes (but is not limited to) the following:
• CPR/First Aid
• Medication Administration
• Core competencies and other trainings relevant to position

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in
• Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing; and employment support
• Transport the client to appointments and run errands
• Help plan and organize their schedule
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record
