Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in Smithfield, NC is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with IDD in their homes and communities. This part-time role covers after-school hours and weekends, with travel within the local area. Compensation is $18.00 per hour, reflecting rewarding, mission-driven work.

You will provide daily living support, assist with housekeeping and personal care, and help plan schedules while maintaining detailed electronic health records and reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Entry-level role with on-the-job training provided.
• Knowledge of basic housekeeping, nutrition, and safety protocols.
• Interpersonal skills and dependability required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in.
• Assist with housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, cleaning; personal care and employment support.
• Transport the client to appointments and run errands.
• Help plan and organize their schedule.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.
