Job summary

Help at Home is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them live safely, independently, and with dignity in their homes and communities.

You will assist with daily living activities, promote personal choice and self-advocacy, and document progress while following each person’s Individual Support Plan. We offer training, benefits, and flexible scheduling to support a meaningful career in care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• State-approved training program completion required.
• Passing score on required written competency test required.

Responsibilities

• Reading, understanding, and following each individual’s Individual Support Plan.
• Reporting updates, progress, and concerns to the IDD Program Specialist.
• Assisting with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, grooming, hygiene, and transportation.
• Encouraging participation in shopping, social events, appointments, and other community activities.
• Supporting individuals toward personal goals and greater independence.
• Promoting personal choice, self-advocacy, dignity, and respect.
• Documenting services, activities, and progress accurately.
• Communicating with team members to provide consistent, high-quality support.
