Job summary

Burton Center in Edgefield, SC seeks a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) for 16–24 hours per week. You will support up to 4 adults with disabilities in a Community Training Home, focusing on training, independence, and community engagement.

You will receive thorough on-the-job training, track progress using Therap, and may assist with meals, personal care, mobility, and safety tasks in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• SC Driver's License
• Ability to lift or maneuver up to 50lbs
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
• Ability to be adaptive, a team player, and advocate for others
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered support to up to 4 adults in a Community Training Home
• Implement training programs, encourage independence and community engagement
• Provide direct care including toileting, bathing, meals, and personal hygiene
• Track objectives and progress using Therap, complete progress reports
• Operate Burton Center vehicles and wheelchair lifts; support safety procedures
