Job summary

Bridgewell in Massachusetts seeks a Direct Support Professional to help individuals with developmental, physical, and psychiatric disabilities in residential settings. You will support daily living skills, supervise activities, and assist with medical and community integration.

The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and collaboration with families and regulatory bodies. A high school diploma or GED is required, with preference for 1 year of relevant experience and ability to drive a van.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Office and agency web tools.
• Ability to drive a large/wheelchair van and hold a valid US driver’s license with 1+ year driving experience in the US.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and assist with skills training in activities of daily living across day/evening/overnight hours.
• Foster independence by creating opportunities for decision-making and learning.
• Maintain documentation and progress notes per regulatory standards and Bridgewell policies.
• Administer medications according to MAP regulations where applicable.
• Transport and accompany clients to medical, recreational, and other activities.
• Build positive relationships with guardians, families, and stakeholders.
