Job summary

Hope Haven, Inc. is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to assist clients in Iowa with daily living skills and activities aligned to individual goals.

You will provide personal care, support, and training to help clients participate in community activities and maintain health and safety. Qualified applicants have a high school diploma or GED/HSED, strong communication, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass background checks and health assessments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/HSED.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment.
• Certification in medication administration required.
• Valid Class C driver’s license.
• Health assessment required at hire and updated as required.
• Clear background checks per service standards.
• Reliable transportation.
• Proof of state minimum liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and training per the service plan to meet individuals' physical and mental needs.
• Assist with hygiene, bathing, toileting, escort, transition time, and mealtime assistance.
• Teach self-control and self-management per departmental training.
• Complete client logs and charts within 24 hours with supervisor approval.
• Support individuals in developing a daily activity schedule tailored to their needs.
• Arrange necessary appointments and transportation and ensure documentation is complete.
• Promote personal safety and safety measures among team and clients.
• Follow all safety procedures.
