Job summary

Hope Haven Inc. in Iowa is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to assist clients with daily living goals, including personal care, community participation, and safety. You will help with hygiene, mobility, meals, transportation, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in decisions.
• Must pass required medication administration course.
• Valid Class C driver’s license required.
• Clearance from background checks as required by service standards.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and training to individuals per the service plan, including hygiene, bathing/showering, toileting, escort, transition time, and mealtime assistance.
• Teach self-control and self-management skills per departmental training.
• Complete documentation: client logs and charts within shift or within 24 hours with supervisor approval.
• Support individuals in developing and carrying out a daily schedule of activities.
• Assist individuals in arranging necessary appointments and transportation as needed with proper documentation.
• Promote personal safety and safety measures among team and clients.
• Follow all safety procedures.
