Job summary

WellLife Network is seeking Direct Support Professionals to help New Yorkers with developmental disabilities thrive in their homes and communities. If you have a caring heart, a commitment to inclusion, and the drive to make a real difference every day, this could be the role for you.

As a Direct Support Professional, you’ll provide hands-on care, encouragement, and advocacy for the individuals you support, assisting with daily living and building community connections.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency required.
• Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities or behavioral health disabilities preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and show empathy.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care, encouragement, and advocacy for individuals.
• Assist with daily living activities and help create a safe home environment.
• Support health and wellness, including accompanying to medical appointments and following plans.
• Assist with mobility and safe navigation of environments.
• Use respectful strategies to support behaviors and promote independence.
• Plan and participate in community, educational, and social activities.
• Assist with communication tools and advocate for needs and access to services.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and maintain accurate records in electronic systems.
