Job summary

WellLife Network seeks Direct Support Professionals to support adults with developmental disabilities in their homes and the community. You will provide hands-on care, advocacy, and help individuals achieve personal goals with compassion and respect.

The role emphasizes person-centered support, teamwork, and ongoing opportunities for training and growth within a strong nonprofit environment. Fluency in English and a NY driver’s license are essential.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or equivalency diploma is required.
• Fluent in English for client communication.
• A valid New York State Driver’s License with at least 2 years of driving experience is required for driving positions.
• Comfort operating a large vehicle for driving positions.
• Experience supporting adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is preferred but not required.
• Patience, compassion, and dedication to empowering others.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care, encouragement, and advocacy for individuals.
• Assist with activities of daily living and community engagement.
• Administer medications as directed and support medical appointments.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe navigation of environments.
• Support with communication tools and advocates for clients' needs and rights.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in electronic systems.
