Job summary

WellLife Network is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in New York to provide hands-on care, advocacy, and encouragement, helping individuals with developmental disabilities live as independently as possible.

You will assist with daily living, meals, mobility, medical appointments, and community engagement, while documenting progress and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

This role requires patience, compassion, and a commitment to dignity and respect for every person.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Fluent in English for client communication.
• New York State driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience (required for driving positions).
• Comfort operating a large vehicle (for driving positions).
• Experience with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on direct care including personal care and daily living support.
• Assist with meals, household chores, and maintaining a safe, comfortable home environment.
• Administer medications as directed and support medical appointments.
• Support mobility, transfers, and safe navigation for individuals.
• Document daily notes, progress reports, incidents in electronic systems.
• Advocate for clients’ needs and rights; collaborate with healthcare professionals.
• Plan and participate in community and social engagement activities.
