Job summary

Harry Meyering Center is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help individuals achieve personal goals in home and community settings. You will provide respectful, individualized care, assist with daily living activities, and support participation in community outings. The role requires at least a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S.

driver’s license, and the ability to pass a background check. No prior experience is required; training is provided, and a flexible schedule is possible

Qualifications

• 18+ with a high school diploma or GED.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Must pass MN DHS Background Study.
• Strong communication skills required.
• Willingness to learn; no experience required.
• Preferred experience: CNA, PCA, DSP, caregiver, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Provide respectful, individualized care.
• Assist with personal cares (dressing, bathing, feeding, etc.).
• Support daily living activities (cooking, cleaning, laundry).
• Participate in community outings (bowling, shopping, movies, exercise).
• Follow health, safety, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Complete documentation and other assigned tasks.

Harry Meyering Center supports people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in their homes and community.

Job Purpose

Make a difference every day as a Direct Support Professional. You'll assist individuals in reaching their personal goals, encourage greater independence, and provide support both in the home and throughout the community. Along the way, you'll build meaningful relationships while gaining valuable experience in the human services field.

Wage

• $18.00 per hourfor full-time and part-time employees.

Location

Multiple locations in North Mankato, Mankato, and Eagle Lake.

Schedules Available

• 8–40 hours per week
• Mornings, evenings, or overnights
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday/fill‑in opportunities
