Job summary

Redwood Family Care Network is seeking Direct Support Professionals in Bakersfield, CA. The role supports individuals with developmental disabilities by promoting health, safety and well-being and serves as an advocate to improve quality of life.

Part-time, hourly wage listed, on-site location in Bakersfield. The organization emphasizes mission-driven care, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• DSP Year 1 & Year 2 certificate required within 12 months of hire.
• RBT certification within first year of employment.
• First Aid/CPR & CPI preferred or willing to obtain.
• Candidate must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a California Driver’s License.
• Candidate must pass all pre-employment background checks.

Responsibilities

• Outline and prepare daily routines for clients as written in their Individual Program Plan.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs.
• Change clients’ undergarments and/or clothing as needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with cleanup.
• Pick up/drop off clients in company vans from/to their home or facility if necessary.

Education

Direct Support Professional Certificate – DSP Year 1 & Year 2

RBT certification within 1st Year

First Aid/CPR & CPI (Preferred)

Must be at least 21 years old

Job Title: Direct Support Professional
Hourly Rate: $16.90- $17.50/hr. Depending on Certifications and Role

Here’s What You’ll Do:

TheDirect Support Professionalsupports individuals with developmental disabilities by promoting their health, safety and well-being. Our Direct Support Professionals proudly serve as an advocate to improve the overall quality of life for our clients.

Essential Functions:

• Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients' (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs.
• Change clients' undergarments and/or clothing if needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
• Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility (if necessary).

Education and Experience:

• Direct Support Professional Certificate – DSP Year 1 & Year 2 (Must obtain within first 12 months of Hire)
• Obtain your RBT within the 1st Year of Employment
• First Aid/CPR & CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention (Preferred or willing to obtain)
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a California Driver’s License
• Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 30lbs.
• Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
