Job summary

Redwood Family Care Network is seeking a Direct Support Professional for Alhambra, CA. The role involves assisting individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting health, safety, and well-being, and advocating for improved quality of life.

Evening shifts (2p-10p) are currently needed as part of a full-time temporary arrangement. Responsibilities include planning daily routines, assisting with personal care, meal prep, and possible client transport.

Qualifications

• Direct Support Professional Certificate Year 1 & Year 2 or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• First Aid / CPR and CPI certifications preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Age 21+ is required.
• California Driver’s License required.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Outline and prepare daily routines for clients as written in the Individual Program Plan.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs and clothing changes as needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with cleanup.
• Transport clients in company vans to and from homes/facilities if necessary.

Education

Direct Support Professional Certificate Year 1 & Year 2 (Preferred or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of hire)

First Aid / CPR and CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention (Preferred or willing to obtain)

Must be at least 21 years of age

Job Title: Direct Support Professional
Hourly Rate: $18 - $19/hr.
Shifts Needed: PM 2p-10p Friday-Monday

Here What You'll Do:

TheDirect Support Professionalsupports individuals with developmental disabilities by promoting their health, safety and well-being. Our Direct Support Professionals proudly serve as an advocate to improve the overall quality of life for our clients.

Essential Functions:

• Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients' (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs.
• Change clients' undergarments and/or clothing if needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
• Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility (if necessary).

Education and Experience:

• Direct Support Professional Certificate Year 1 & Year 2 (Preferred or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of hire)
• First Aid / CPR and CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention (Preferred or willing to obtain)
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a California Driver’s License
• Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 30lbs.
• Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
