Job summary

Redwood Family Care Network is seeking a Direct Support Professional in Alhambra, CA. The role supports individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting health, safety and well-being, and advocates for improved quality of life in client-centered home and community settings.

Shift: AM 6a-10a Tue-Fri and 6a-2p Sat; part-time. Requirements include 21+ years old, CA driver's license, background check, and DSP certificates or willingness to obtain within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Direct Support Professional Certificate Year 1 & Year 2 (Preferred or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of hire)
• First Aid / CPR and CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention (Preferred or willing to obtain)
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a California Driver’s License
• Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check.

Responsibilities

• Outline and prepare daily routines for clients as written in Individual Program Plan.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs.
• Change clients' undergarments and/or clothing if needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
• Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility (if necessary).

Job Title: Direct Support Professional

Hourly Rate: $18 - $19/hr.

Shifts Needed: AM 6a-10a Tuesday-Friday, 6a-2p Saturday

Job Status: Part-Time

Here’s What You’ll Do:

TheDirect Support Professionalsupports individuals with developmental disabilities by promoting their health, safety and well-being. Our Direct Support Professionals proudly serve as an advocate to improve the overall quality of life for our clients.

Essential Functions:

• Assist clients with bathroom needs.
• Change clients' undergarments and/or clothing if needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
• Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility (if necessary).

Education and Experience:

• Direct Support Professional Certificate Year 1 & Year 2 (Preferred or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of hire)
• First Aid / CPR and CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention (Preferred or willing to obtain)
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a California Driver’s License

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 30lbs.
• Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
