Gateways to Change, Inc. is hiring Direct Support Workers to provide in-home and community-based support to adults with developmental and physical disabilities across Rhode Island.

You will help individuals acquire daily living and socialization skills, transport to appointments and activities, and assist with personal care and medication administration. The role requires a valid driver's license, background check, and strong communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license with valid insurance, registrations and inspection.
• Criminal background check with no disqualifying offenses required.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide in-home and community-based support to individuals.
• Assist individuals to achieve goals in home and local community.
• Transport individuals to medical appointments, shopping and recreation.
• Assist with toileting, dressing, and personal hygiene as needed.
• Administer medications per plan or as directed.
• Cultivate safe and supportive relationships with individuals.
• Be creative, organized, and efficient in daily tasks.
• Work independently and with staff as part of a team.
• Support individuals in daily living and socialization activities.

We are looking for a dedicated and committed Direct Support Workers who are striving to make a difference in the lives of the individuals we serve. Help individuals acquire and maintain skills to improve their daily-living, and socialization skills.

• Provide In-Home and Community Based support to individuals
• Assist individuals with achieving a variety of goals in the home and local community
• Transport individuals to medical appointments, personal shopping, and recreation activities
• Assist in toileting, dressing, and hygiene
• Administration of medication
• Cultivate safe and supportive relationships
• Be creative, organized, and efficient
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and bring fun to the job
• Working independently and with staff

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a valid driver's license and existing insurance, registrations & inspection
• Must provide a criminal background check with no disqualifying offenses
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
