Job summary

Gateways to Change, Inc. in Rhode Island is seeking dedicated Direct Support Workers to help adults with developmental and physical disabilities develop daily living and socialization skills.

You will provide in-home and community-based support tailored to each individual’s goals. Responsibilities include transporting clients to medical appointments, shopping and recreation, assisting with toileting, dressing, and hygiene, administering medications, and fostering safe, supportive relationships.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
• Must provide a criminal background check with no disqualifying offenses.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a dedicated and committed Direct Support Workers who are striving to make a difference in the lives of the individuals we serve. Help individuals acquire and maintain skills to improve their daily-living, and socialization skills.

• Provide In-Home and Community Based support to individuals
• Assist individuals with achieving a variety of goals in the home and local community
• Transport individuals to medical appointments, personal shopping, and recreation activities
• Assist in toileting, dressing, and hygiene
• Administration of medication
• Cultivate safe and supportive relationships
• Be creative, organized, and efficient
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and bring fun to the job
• Working independently and with staff

REQUIREMENTS
