Job summary

ACLD is seeking a Direct Support Professional for a residential setting to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities become more independent. You will provide daily living support, structure, and care to promote self-actualization.

Must have a High School Diploma and English communication skills, with AMAP and SCIP certifications required or obtainable. Lifting up to 15 lbs and prior care experience a plus. Training provided; EOE.

In this position, you will:

• Help people supported achieve/exceed their personal goals

We require:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to communicate and understand in English; both verbally and in writing.
• Some experience working with the intellectually and developmentally disabled population preferred; but will train. Cooking and light housekeeping may be required.
• Must obtain and maintain AMAP and SCIP certifications
• The ability to perform SCIP maneuvers which may require bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, lying on the ground, and supporting another person's body weight.
• The ability to reach, bend, twist, kneel, and squat as you assist people with physical activities.
• The ability to assist with lifting and transferring a person. The ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
• Prior experience as Caregiver, Care Assistant, Personal Assistant, Resident Assistant, Direct Care Worker, Nursing Assistant, Home Care Aide or Companion is a plus

Salary Range: $21.00 To $23.00 Hourly
