Job summary

ACLD is seeking a Direct Support Professional for a Regular Part-Time morning shift in Sayville, NY. You will support adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities in a residential setting, helping them achieve personal goals and maintain daily independence.

Responsibilities include providing structure, emotional support, assisting with personal hygiene, and transporting participants to appointments and activities using agency vehicles.

Qualifications

• Clean, valid NYS Driver’s license.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Some experience with intellectually/developmentally disabled population preferred; training provided.
• Must obtain AMAP and SCIP within six months of hire.
• Prior roles as caregiver or similar is a plus.

In this position, you will:

We require:

• Clean, valid NYS Driver’s license
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Some experience working with the intellectually and developmentally disabled population preferred; but will train. Cooking and light housekeeping may be required.
• Must obtain and maintain AMAP (within six months of hire) and SCIP certifications
• Prior experience as Caregiver, Care Assistant, Personal Assistant, Resident Assistant, Direct Care Worker, Nursing Assistant, Home Care Aide or Companion is a plus

Salary ranges from 17.00 - 18.00

Some programs/locations may have a differential in addition to the hourly rate.
