Job summary

ACLD is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to join our residential team in Wisconsin. This regular part-time role helps adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities become more self-sufficient and engaged in daily activities.

You will provide structure, emotional support, assist with personal hygiene, and help participants achieve personal goals while following safety protocols. Training provided; AMAP/SCIP certifications required or obtainable during employment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to communicate and understand in English; both verbally and in writing.
• AMAP and SCIP certifications required or obtainable during employment.
• Ability to perform SCIP maneuvers and lift up to 15 lbs.
• Prior caregiving experience is a plus.

In this position, you will:

• Help people supported achieve/exceed their personal goals

We require:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to communicate and understand in English; both verbally and in writing.
• Some experience working with the intellectually and developmentally disabled population preferred; but will train. Cooking and light housekeeping may be required.
• Must obtain and maintain AMAP and SCIP certifications
• The ability to perform SCIP maneuvers which may require bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, lying on the ground, and supporting another person's body weight.
• The ability to reach, bend, twist, kneel, and squat as you assist people with physical activities.
• The ability to assist with lifting and transferring a person. The ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
• Prior experience as Caregiver, Care Assistant, Personal Assistant, Resident Assistant, Direct Care Worker, Nursing Assistant, Home Care Aide or Companion is a plus

Salary Range: $21.00 To $23.00 Hourly
