Job summary

Adults and Children with Learning Disabilities seeks a Direct Support Professional for a residential, part-time position in Ontario. You will help adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities become more independent and self-actualized.

Responsibilities include supporting goals, providing structure, addressing behavioral challenges, and assisting with hygiene. Requires a HS diploma; training provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Some experience with intellectually/developmentally disabled population preferred; training provided. Cooking and light housekeeping may be required.
• Must obtain AMAP and SCIP certifications within six months of hire.
• Prior experience as caregiver/assistant is a plus.

In this position, you will:

We require:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Some experience working with the intellectually and developmentally disabled population preferred; but will train. Cooking and light housekeeping may be required.
• Must obtain and maintain AMAP (within six months of hire) and SCIP certifications
• Prior experience as Caregiver, Care Assistant, Personal Assistant, Resident Assistant, Direct Care Worker, Nursing Assistant, Home Care Aide or Companion is a plus
