Job summary

Beacon Specialized Living is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and mental health challenges. No prior experience is required as training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age or older and hold a valid driver's license.
• Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals who have mental illness.

Responsibilities

• Provide Support & Care: Encourage and guide individuals throughout the day to meet their goals.
• Foster a Safe Environment: Create a trust-filled space where individuals feel safe and respected.
• Meal Prep & Housekeeping: Cook meals and assist with laundry and cleaning.
• Transportation & Advocacy: Transport individuals to appointments and advocate on their behalf.
• Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed and ensure correct dosage.
• 24/7 Availability: Remain awake and accessible in homes requiring round-the-clock care.
• Supervise Daily Activities: Support personal care, life skills, and social activities.
