Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is hiring a Direct Support Mentor for on-site work in Greensboro, NC. The position focuses on mentoring Direct Support Employees, ensuring staff coverage, and delivering person-centered supports in residential and day settings.

The role emphasizes training new staff, promoting dignity and independence, and coordinating with the Residential Team Leader to meet individual services goals.

Qualifications

• Must have a High school diploma or GED.
• Prefer experience working with IDD individuals.
• At least one year of experience working with the population served.
• Must have a valid driver’s license including personal vehicle insurance coverage.
• Maintain CPR and First Aid certification, Med Tech and NCI certifications and other core competency training as required.
• Depending on service being provided must be clinically supervised by a qualified professional.
• Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from floor level.
• Pre-employment screening: criminal background, registries checks, drug testing, education verification, and other credentialing.

Responsibilities

• Assist people supported to identify personal outcomes aligned with their goals and preferences.
• Support the Interdisciplinary Team to determine needed supports for personal outcomes.
• Promote dignity, respect, and quality of life for people served.
• Provide opportunities for choice and self-direction.
• Report incidents of abuse, neglect, or exploitation immediately.
• Maintain home cleanliness and oversee Environmental Assessments and maintenance.
• Support daily living activities and community participation as appropriate.
• Train people supported in self-medication according to policy.
