Job summary

Burton Center for Disabilities and Special Needs is seeking a full-time Direct Support Professional for the Day Program. The role focuses on person-centered support, training, and promoting independence for adults with disabilities.

You will provide direct care, assist with self-help skills, and follow a designated curriculum while supporting health and safety. Training includes Therap progress tracking, Basic Life Support, and, if needed, transportation duties with Burton Center vehicles.

Qualifications

• SC Driver's License may be required
• Ability to lift or maneuver up to 50lbs
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods
• Adaptable, a team player, and advocate for others
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered support and implement training programs
• Encourage independence and community engagement
• Provide direct care with self-help skills and personal hygiene
• Track progress using Therap and complete progress reports
• Assist with transportation and safety duties as trained
