Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health in Winter Park, FL is seeking a Direct Support Leader (DSP Lead) to mentor staff and supervise daily operations. The role involves leading personal care, behavioral support, and skill-building activities for adolescents and adults facing emotional and developmental challenges.

The position requires strong leadership, empathy, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Social Work preferred.
• One year of experience working with persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities or in medical/psychiatric settings required.
• Post-secondary education may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide Personal Care, including daily living activities.
• Implement behavior management plans and support coping skills.
• Facilitate skill-building activities (social, communication, life skills).
• Recognize crisis signs and de-escalate safely.
• Maintain accurate client progress and incident documentation.
• Assist with transportation to appointments and activities.
• Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and families.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on best practices.
