Job summary

Devereux Florida is seeking a Direct Support Leader (DSP Lead) to mentor and guide staff in providing high-quality behavioral health support to adolescents and adults in Winter Park, FL. You will oversee daily operations and ensure compassionate, person-centered care across activities and services.

The role focuses on crisis intervention, documentation, collaboration, and ongoing staff training to maintain best practices in behavioral health support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Social Work preferred.
• Experience with persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities or related setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
• Implement behavior management plans and support coping strategies.
• Facilitate skill-building activities (social, communication, life skills).
• Recognize and de-escalate crises; provide crisis intervention.
• Maintain accurate records of client progress, incidents, and daily activities.
• Assist clients with transportation to appointments and community activities.
• Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and family members; participate in training.
