The Team Leader will be responsible for assisting the sales center management in leading a group of Sales Representatives towards achievement of performance objectives. The responsibilities of this position are a blend of subject matter expertise, development and coaching, and performing various critical operational support functions which together help to maintain a productive and efficient sales environment for the Sales Representatives.
Responsibilities
- The Team Leader will be required to spend up to 33% of their staffed time handling sales calls, up to 33% managing work/documentation/projects which together make up the operational support of the sales center, and 33% of their time assuming a leadership role and acting as a resource for the inbound and outbound teams.
- Create an environment of collaboration and teamwork to deliver quality service and superior sales results.
- Value and inspire a team of Sales Representatives through effective and consistent leadership, relationship building, and reward and recognition.
- Serve as an expert resource on sales process, procedures, and techniques by maintaining and enhancing your own product knowledge and process understanding.
- Identify sales strategies resulting in increased productivity and improved point of sale quality measures.
- Implement and execute coaching tactics based on employee need and as directed by the Director/Supervisor, daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly.
- Use monitoring systems to effectively evaluate and monitor performance. Generate action plans to enhance performance of under-performing reps.
- Provide feedback to management and staff regarding sales strategies and techniques. Actively seek out areas of opportunity and proactively communicate solutions to Supervisor/Director.
- Promptly answer staff inquiries and handle escalated issues.
- Develop and implement daily and weekly performance game plans through the utilization of all available coaching and development tools. Train, coach and motivate Sales Representatives to exceed set performance goals daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of new hire training process and assuming the role of trainer as needed to accommodate sales center needs.
- Execute tactics to ensure workforce efficiency and schedule adherence.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor(s) and Director.
Qualifications
- 1+ years’ experience on the inbound or outbound team preferred.
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or equivalent work experience.
- Must maintain an active NJ Property and Casualty Insurance license.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Analytical skills to understand performance results, coverage details, and underwriting guidelines.
- In depth knowledge of all products being offered.
- Demonstration of a positive attitude and cooperative sales skills within the organization.
- Ability to be a mentor on the sales floor and actively work to attain sales objectives.
- Ability to work independently, perform on a high level of competency while meeting or exceeding deadlines.
- Some late shift, weekend and/or holiday work is required.
SALARY RANGE
The pay range for this position is $66,000 to $89,500 annually. Actual compensation will vary based on multiple factors, including employee knowledge and experience, role scope, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
