Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Dining Services Supervisor Mid Shift to lead onsite cafeterias, cafés and patient room service. The role reports to dining operations and emphasizes safety, quality and customer service. Shift is 11:30am-8pm with alternating weekends off.

You will supervise a team, coordinate production, manage inventory and ensure food safety standards while maintaining excellent guest experiences in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1+ year in large-volume food service.
• Associates degree and some supervisory experience preferred.
• Fluent English reading/writing/speaking required.
• Basic math skills for inventory and costing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of a unit within Dining Services.
• Cross-train to provide coverage in all units.
• Hire, onboard, train, coach, and manage performance.
• Schedule staff to meet production and service needs.
• Ensure food safety and sanitation compliance.
• Monitor inventory and usage of food and supplies.
• Maintain documentation and monitor quality and service.
• Communicate with customers and other departments.
