Job summary

University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Overnight Dining Services Supervisor to manage dining operations across cafeterias, cafés, and patient room service. You will lead a team, ensure safety, quality, and customer service, coordinate staffing, inventory, and food preparation for the overnight shift (8pm–4:30am), and support service recovery as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of experience in large-volume food service, restaurant, or patient food service environments.
• Associates degree and supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates activities of a specific operational unit within dining services.
• Participates in hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management of staff.
• Schedules employees to meet production and service requirements.
• Motivates staff to maintain high engagement and morale.
• Ensures daily adherence to food safety regulations and protocols.
• Manages inventory, orders, and usage of food and supplies; maintains documentation.
• Monitors food quality, sanitation, and patient/customer service.
• Communicates with customers, employees, and other departments supporting dining services.
• Supports service recovery initiatives as needed.
• Performs professional, clinical and technical competencies of the assigned unit.
