Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin's University Housing and Dining department seeks a Dining Assistant Manager to oversee daily operations at a large residential dining facility on UT Austin's main campus.

You will supervise diverse staff, maintain safety and sanitation standards, help manage food cost and inventory using FoodPro, and contribute to UHD 5‑Star guest experiences. This full‑time role offers career growth and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, food and nutrition, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of management experience in a restaurant, commercial, or institutional facility.
• Experience operating a standard kitchen.
• Ability to complete Food Safety Training and cash handling training.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily service operations ensuring quality, safety, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.
• Lead dining team including full-time, part-time, student, and temporary staff; coach and schedule.
• Support customer-first culture; manage promotions and student engagement with UHD 5-Star standards.
• Monitor food cost, labor, inventory; use FoodPro for forecasting and ordering.
• Communicate clearly with staff and campus partners; uphold UHD values.
