Job summary

University of Texas at Austin, University Housing and Dining, is seeking a Dining Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of a large residential dining facility or dining retail unit on UT's main campus. You will manage staff, ensure food safety, and maintain high guest satisfaction while aligning with UHD 5-Star standards.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in business, nutrition, or related field, plus at least 2 years of management experience in a food service setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, food and nutrition, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of management experience in a restaurant, commercial, or institutional facility.
• Experience with operating a standard kitchen.
• Ability to complete and maintain Food Safety Training required by University Housing and Dining.
• Ability to complete and maintain University Housing and Dining cash handling training.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily service operations to ensure quality, safety, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction; act as manager-on-duty, coordinate with kitchen and service staff, and ensure timely meals.
• Lead and support dining staff, provide coaching, onboarding, training, and scheduling with the General Manager.
• Support a customer-first culture; assist with promotions and events; uphold UHD 5 Star standards in interactions.
