Job summary

Healthcare Services Group, Inc. seeks a Food Service Director to lead the dining department at a long-term care facility. You will ensure quality meal preparation, maintain inventory, uphold food safety, and deliver excellent customer and resident experiences.

You will supervise the food service team, conduct training, and adhere to menus and regulatory requirements while using facility and HCSG systems. This role demands strong leadership and a commitment to high service standards.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in food service management or hospitality preferred.
• Two years of experience in quantity food production/service and supervision preferred.
• CDM certification preferred (or as required by state and county law).
• Must obtain Food Protection Manager (FPM) within first 14 days of employment.
• Must obtain FSM and LTC-FSM certifications within first 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the food service team to meet quality and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of income, expenditures, food supplies, personnel, and equipment using HCSG software.
• Conduct staff training, quality control, and in-service sessions; assume roles of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher as needed.
• Communicate directives from client managers, building occupants, and administrators to HCSG staff.
• Ensure safety: protective gear, proper handling of cleaning solutions, and prompt reporting of equipment needs or malfunctions.
• Maintain infection control, universal precautions, and handwashing procedures.
• Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and timely task completion.
• Represent HCSG positively through courteous interactions with supervisors, coworkers, residents, and guests.
