Commonwealth Senior Living at Charlottesville is seeking a Dining Services Director to lead our community's signature dining program. You will oversee meal preparation, dietary compliance, budgeting, and staff management to deliver high-quality resident dining experiences.

Qualifications

• Food Handler Certification or equivalent.
• Experience managing food service operations.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Willingness to learn new tasks.
• Available to work varied shifts and weekends.
• Physical ability to lift, stand, and walk; tolerate heat in kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals to residents safely and sanitary; follow health regulations.
• Prepare food for regular and therapeutic diets per menu and doctors' orders.
• Ensure correct food quantities per established schedules.
• Prepare food for special events as instructed by the Executive Director.
• Maintain costs within budgeted parameters.
• Taste checks to ensure quality and palatability before service.
• Maintain proper food temperatures and record results.
• Report hazardous/malfunctioning equipment to the Executive Director.
• Offer recommendations to improve recipes, menus, and service.
• Attend workshops and trainings to stay updated in health care dining.
• Lead in staff selection and department management.
• Assist in scheduling department hours and work assignments.
• Routinely inspect the dietary area for compliance with regulations.
• Develop and use inventory control procedures.
• Purchase food, supplies, and equipment as needed.
• Maintain adequate stock to support department needs and emergency prep.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
• Supervise and manage dining department schedules and tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
