Job summary

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a Dining Service Team Leader to supervise dining staff and manage tasks across kitchen and dining areas. You will ensure quality, train staff, and support scheduling and menu planning.

The role is full-time, on-site in Lincoln, NE, with a 12:30pm–9:00pm Tue-Sat schedule and a posted wage of $18.00 per hour. Benefits include PTO, insurance, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma plus three years of food preparation experience and mastery of all dining/kitchen tasks and attributes.
• Must have the ability to lift up to 50lbs and push/pull up to 100lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assign tasks and responsibilities to staff/students to ensure food quality, recipes, and presentation meet dining standards
• Assist leadership to build schedules, plan menus, forecast, maintain records, and develop recipes
• Perform all tasks in dining services including setting up and closing down stations, cooking, re-stocking, recipe/ingredient preparation, operate the computer, cashiering, taking inventory, operating dish machine, and cleaning
• Assist with staff training and monitoring cost and waste controls
• Provide excellent customer service to the patrons of the dining center
• This position is considered essential
