Job summary

ALSAC - St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis seeks a seasoned donor relations professional to strategically build and manage a portfolio of planned gifts and outright gifts.

You will cultivate high-value donors, collaborate across the organization, and develop engagement strategies aligned with donors' philanthropic goals. The role requires at least 5 years in fundraising or major gifts, strong communication, and willingness to travel up to 70%.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in fundraising, planned giving, or major gifts.
• Assigned donor portfolio work involves in-person cultivation and strategic stewardship.
• Demonstrated success in donor cultivation and relationship management.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel 50–70% of the time, including evenings and weekends.
• Experience with bequest and major gift fundraising.
• Strategic thinker and collaborative team player.
• Familiarity with planned giving tools and CRM systems.
• Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate and steward portfolio of donors through personal visits, events, and written communication.
• Proactively identify giving opportunities and long-term donor engagement.
• Collaborate with internal partners to maximize bequest and planned giving potential.
• Lead moves management practices to solicit planned and outright gifts.
• Provide expertise on planned giving, taxes, and fundraising knowledge to donors.
• Capture data on donor interactions and coordinate with staff on donor strategies.
• Plan and execute local donor events and gatherings, coordinating logistics and follow-up.
• Stay current with industry trends and ALSAC programs to inform donor strategies.
