Job summary

RTX is seeking a Digital Electrical Engineer II for its Tucson, AZ location. You will design and develop next-generation circuit card assemblies and FPGA-based solutions using AMD, Altera, and Microchip architectures.

You’ll work in an agile, cross-functional team across the full lifecycle from concept to production release. The role emphasizes digital architecture, high-speed interfaces, and RF/EO signal processing, with collaboration across systems, mechanical, and software teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM discipline; degree must be obtained by start date.
• Experience or coursework in Digital Electronics, Circuit Design/Analysis, Digital Design, or HDL coding for configurable logic devices.
• Experience using common electronic test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters) for circuit characterization, debugging, validation.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and verify digital architecture, circuit card designs, and FPGA implementations for configurable logic devices.
• Model digital algorithms, partition design functions, and write high-reliability code for embedded systems.
• Perform component selection, schematic capture, circuit simulation, and collaborate on PCB layout and routing.
• Integrate and validate hardware designs in a lab using advanced test instruments against system requirements.
• Maintain design documentation, technical reports, and configuration management throughout the lifecycle.
• Support engineering activities from initial customer requirements through formal production release.
