Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Digital Electrical Engineer II to design and develop next-generation circuit card assemblies (CCAs) and FPGA-based solutions using architectures like AMD, Altera, and Microchip. You will work across gigabit interfaces, RF/EO DSP, embedded controllers, and processor interfaces in an agile, cross-functional team.

Responsibilities span from initial architecture and modeling to hardware integration and production release, with a focus on delivering mission-critical

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM; degree must be obtained by start date.
• Experience or coursework in Digital Electronics, Circuit Design/Analysis, Digital Design, or HDL coding for configurable logic devices.
• Experience using common electronic test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs) for circuit characterization, debugging, validation.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and verify digital architecture, circuit card designs, and FPGA implementations targeting configurable logic devices.
• Model digital algorithms, partition design functions, and write high-reliability code for embedded processing systems.
• Perform component selection, schematic capture, circuit simulation, and collaborate on physical layout and routing.
• Integrate and validate hardware designs in a laboratory environment using advanced test instrumentation against rigorous system requirements.
• Maintain comprehensive design documentation, technical reports, and configuration management artifacts throughout the product lifecycle.
• Support engineering activities from initial customer requirement definition through formal production release.
