Job SummaryThe Rebuild Technician for Diffs is responsible for the teardown, inspection, cleaning, preparation, repair, and assembly support of differential components and assemblies. This position follows established work instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures to ensure products are processed accurately and efficiently throughout the remanufacturing process. The Differential Technician operates a variety of tools and equipment, performs component inspections, supports production flow, and identifies quality or repair concerns. Working collaboratively with Team Leaders and other production departments, this role helps maintain productivity, quality, and safety objectives while contributing to continuous improvement efforts and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.Who We AreWeller Truck Parts began its history in Muskegon, Michigan in 1928 when Harry Weller, a small body shop owner, found value in recycled parts for the auto industry. requirements.Perform pre-operational inspections of tools, equipment, and workstations to ensure readiness and report any missing, damaged, or malfunctioning equipment to leadership.Work closely with the Line Leader to identify production priorities and complete assigned teardown and preparation activities according to operational schedules.Verify unit identification, tags, and related documentation prior to beginning work to ensure accuracy and traceability.Utilize electronic work instructions and manufacturing systems, including Dozuki and company-provided devices, to perform assigned tasks in accordance with established procedures.Disassemble, prepare, and process remanufactured components and assemblies according to documented work instructions, quality standards, and production requirements.Follow standardized work processes to ensure product quality, consistency, and operational efficiency.Identify, communicate, and escalate discrepancies, documentation errors, equipment concerns, quality issues, or unsafe conditions to leadership.Maintain production flow by completing assigned units and transitioning efficiently to the next scheduled task.Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on work instructions, processes, safety practices, and equipment performance.Adhere to all company safety policies, environmental requirements, and operational procedures.Collaborate effectively with team members and leadership to achieve departmental productivity, quality, and safety goals.Maintain accurate housekeeping and 5S standards by keeping workstations, tooling, equipment, and production areas clean, organized, and audit-ready.Maintains regular, predictable attendance and punctuality to support production schedules, team operations, and customer requirements.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications and Education RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Previous experience with automotive repairs or related experience preferred.Experience working with standard operating procedures, work instructions, and quality systems preferred.Vocational, technical, or trade school training in a mechanical or industrial field is a plus.Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesKnowledge of manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and quality control processes.Knowledge of workplace safety practices, including the safe use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).Basic understanding of mechanical systems, components, and assembly principles.Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions, specifications, standard operating procedures, and quality requirements.Ability to inspect components and assemblies, identify defects or non-conformances, and ensure compliance with quality standards.Ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and production equipment safely and effectively.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement or recommend corrective actions.Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while in the performance of assigned duties.Ability to frequently lift and move materials, parts, and assemblies weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance.Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, and
