Essex Health and Rehabilitation in Tappahannock, VA is seeking a Dietary Services Manager to lead our dietary team, oversee meals, and ensure high standards of food safety and resident satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership, menu planning in collaboration with our dietitian, and regulatory compliance.

You will manage budgeting, staff development, and ongoing quality improvements to deliver exceptional dining experiences for residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of an approved Food Management Course.
• Experience in food service management, preferably in long-term care or healthcare.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and dietary regulations.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and nutrition requirements.
• Demonstrated leadership and organizational abilities.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire dietary team members.
• Oversee meal preparation, presentation, and service for residents.
• Plan and implement nutritious menus with the Consultant Dietitian.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local dietary regulations.
• Manage purchasing, inventory, and departmental budgets.
• Coordinate with nursing and dietary teams to meet resident needs.
• Maintain records of purchases, expenses, and staffing.
