Job description

LHGS is seeking a dedicated individual for the full-time position of Food Service Director. The role involves obtaining the Certified Dietary Management certification, with LHGS providing training and support throughout the process. This position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends.

Salary Range: $22-$30 per hour depending on experience and certifications. We also offer training for those pursuing certification as a Dietary Manager, which LHGS will fund and support.

The certification process is a 12-month online course through UND, with our dietitian serving as the preceptor. The course includes multiple sections, each requiring knowledge tests and a final exam.

Responsibilities include:

1. Supervising and directing the dietary department.
2. Scheduling dietary staff.
3. Ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulations.
4. Purchasing and inventory management.
5. Maintaining food safety and sanitation standards.
6. Implementing infection control practices.
7. Menu planning with dietary consultants/dietitians.
8. Overseeing food preparation and service techniques.
9. Assisting with food prep when necessary.
10. Gathering resident information for nutritional assessments and care plans.
11. Documenting nutritional progress in medical records.
12. Participating in departmental meetings.
13. Receiving monthly consultations with a licensed dietitian.

Qualifications:

• Effective communication skills and sensitivity to staff and residents.
• High school diploma or equivalent; formal training preferred.
• Knowledge of food service processes.
• Minimum 1 year of food service and supervisory experience.
• Basic computer skills, including scheduling and timekeeping software.
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
