Job description

LHGS is looking for the right individual to work as a full-time Food Service Director. As a Food Service Director, you would be required to obtain the Certified Dietary Management certification if you do not already have it. LHGS’s management team will provide the proper training and support throughout the process. This position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends.

Salary Range

$22-$30 per hour, depending on experience and certifications.

Training for Certified Dietary Manager
Responsibilities of the Food Service Director
  • Supervision and direction within the dietary department.
  • Scheduling dietary personnel.
  • Ensuring compliance with facility policies and regulations.
  • Implementing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Purchasing food and supplies, managing inventory, and product rotation.
  • Monitoring staff adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Knowledge of infection control practices related to food and nutrition services.
  • Menu planning with dietary consultants/dietitians.
  • Ensuring proper cooking and serving techniques.
  • Assisting with food preparation and assuming any dietary position as needed.
  • Gathering resident information for nutritional assessments and care plans.
  • Documenting nutrition progress in medical records.
  • Participating in department and interdepartmental meetings.
  • Receiving monthly consultations with a Licensed Registered Dietitian.
Qualifications
  • Good communication skills and sensitivity to staff and residents’ welfare.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; formal training preferred.
  • Knowledge of food service processes.
  • At least 1 year of experience in food service and supervisory or management roles.
  • Basic computer skills, including scheduling and timekeeping software.
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
