SUMMARY
The Dietary Supervisor is responsible for providing residents with quality, affordable meals in a warm, friendly environment while increasing the profitability of Capri Dining Services, LLC. This is a hands-on position that will directly oversee all aspects of culinary services provided to our residents.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage meal service in dining areas for residents, guests, and for special functions, including set-up, service, and clean-up.
- Schedule, assign, train, and manage all wait staff personnel, ensuring adequate staffing at all times.
- Supervise serving of meals.
- Accept on-call and emergency duties/responsibilities.
- Make frequent inspections of all work, storage, and serving areas to determine and maintain compliance with all policies and procedures governing these areas.
- Recommend changes in techniques or procedures governing service areas.
- Coordinate set-up and cleanup of catered functions for residents, guests, and staff.
- Address residents' dining concerns and attend to residents' needs to facilitate good communication.
- Maintain records of work assignments and menu selection.
- Instruct employees in equipment use and sanitation methods.
- Ensure the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of dining room areas, equipment, and fixtures.
- Conduct routine sanitation, safety, and maintenance inspections of equipment and work areas, ensuring compliance with cleaning standards of all food preparation and service areas.
- Interview candidates for hire, conduct performance evaluations, discipline, and recommend promotions, transfers, and/or discharge.
- Ensure POS is properly closed out at the end of the shift, with all tables entered correctly in the software along with proper payment.
- Update menus weekly in the POS system, including theme meals or specials.
- Assist in the implementation of established cost containment procedures.
- May serve as wait staff to ensure timely and efficient service of residents, guests, or staff.
- Fill in for the Assistant Director of Dining Services in their absence if needed.
- Acknowledge, comprehend, and support the residents and the Resident Bill of Rights.
- Maintain confidentiality of both residents and staff.
- Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Attend and participate in committee meetings, trainings, in-services, and community events as required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in a food service operation, including six months of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of quality food service preparation, techniques, and standards.
- Knowledge of state health and safety regulations and requirements.
- Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles.
- Ability to communicate effectively via written or verbal methods.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Word and Excel, as well as other industry-related software.
