Description
We are a skilled nursing facility seeking a dedicated, compassionate leader to join the Paradigm Healthcare team as a Dietary Manager!
Job Duties
- Stock ingredients and monitor food, beverage, and equipment/supplies inventory as directed.
- Adhere to budget for supplies, food, and labor as directed.
- Work with the team to develop the baseline care plan within 48 hours of admission.
- Document progress reports at required intervals as stated in MDS guidelines.
- Attend skilled care plan/Medicare meetings with members, families, and the care team when it involves a special diet or nutritional concern.
- Place necessary food orders with the cook for patients with special dietary needs.
- Participate in menu planning.
- Oversee dietary staff to ensure cleaning, cooking, and service are consistent with facility policies and procedures.
- Ensure food preparation areas, kitchen, dishes, and equipment are cleaned appropriately.
- Ensure food is cooked and served to residents according to orders or diet instructions.
- Follow OSHA and safety regulations for food service sanitation, applicable regulations for nursing homes, and the facility’s policies and procedures.
- Maintain dietary policies and procedures in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ensure all employees and the facility have the necessary licensure for dietary, cooking, and food services.
- Administer departmental disciplinary actions fairly and without discrimination, in coordination with HR and administration.
- Terminate employment of personnel when necessary, documenting and coordinating such actions appropriately.
- Communicate effectively with residents, visitors, families, staff, and supervisors.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- Active license as a certified dietary manager or certified food service manager, or legal permission to work in this role under federal and state law.
- Minimum three years’ supervisory experience in a dietary department within a hospital, nursing facility, or healthcare setting preferred.
- Knowledge of dietary practices, procedures, and relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines governing dietary functions in nursing facilities.
