Responsibilities

Responsible for screening, assessing, prioritizing, and providing nutrition care plans for patients and families, which may be specific to a disease entity but also encompass the entire continuum of care – hospital, clinic, and community.

Minimum Job Requirements
  • Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration is required at hire.
  • Certification as Dietitian with the State of Wisconsin is required within 6 months of hire.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Exhibits behaviors that reflect Children’s values and support our mission and vision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively share information with physicians, counsel families, participate in a multidisciplinary team, and provide coaching to team members.
  • Ability to independently assess patients, interpret data, and evaluate recommendations and patient comprehension.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Exposure to blood, body fluids, hazardous materials, chemicals, and waste may occur.
  • Roles may include standing for long periods during inpatient rounds.

This is primarily an ambulatory position at the Milwaukee campus, with some travel to regional sites in Southeastern Wisconsin. The work schedule is four days per week, roughly 8 am to 4:30 pm, with no weekend or holiday coverage.
