Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility for at least 1 year.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare meals according to menus and portion control guides.
• Assist with serving meals and monitor temperatures.
• Record food temperatures and prepare special diets.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator or Director of Nurses.
• Supervise dietary staff in the absence of the supervisor.
