Job summary

Bear Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. You will prepare meals for residents, follow approved menus, and ensure sanitary, safe food preparation in a long-term care setting.

Responsibilities include recording temperatures, preparing special diets, supervising dietary staff in the supervisor's absence, and presenting meals attractively.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility for at least one year.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.
• Ability to read and follow technical procedures and recipes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, clean, sanitary manner.
• Prepare meals per menus and portion controls.
• Record food temperatures and prepare pureed foods as needed.
• Supervise dietary staff in absence of the Diet Supervisor.
• Ensure cleaning schedules are followed and kitchen is organized.
