Job summary

Canyon Springs Post Acute is seeking a dedicated Dietary Cook to join our dietary services team in San Jose, CA. The role focuses on preparing nutritious, therapeutic meals for residents in a SNF/post-acute setting, while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have SNF or healthcare food service experience, knowledge of therapeutic diets, and ServSafe certification is preferred. This is a full-time position with a split shift and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals per established menus and therapeutic diet guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with dietary restrictions and physician orders.
• Maintain food storage, sanitation and infection control procedures.
• Monitor food quality, freshness and presentation.
• Keep kitchen orderly, clean and safe at all times.
• Collaborate with Dietary Manager and care team to support resident nutrition.

Job description

Canyon Springs Post Acute is seeking an experienced, dependable, and motivated Dietary Cook to join our dietary services team. The ideal candidate has prior experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), rehabilitation center, or healthcare setting and is committed to providing residents with high-quality, nutritious meals that meet therapeutic dietary requirements.

Dietary Cook (SNF Experience Preferred)

Full-Time | Split Shift (2 Days AM / 2 Days PM)

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour DOE

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and therapeutic diet guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with dietary restrictions, physician orders, and food safety standards.
• Maintain proper food storage, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and presentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
• Collaborate with the Dietary Manager and care team to support resident satisfaction and nutritional needs.

Qualifications

• Previous Dietary Cook experience in a SNF, post-acute, rehabilitation, assisted living, or healthcare environment preferred.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets, texture-modified diets, and food safety regulations.
• Ability to work scheduled AM and PM shifts.
• ServSafe Certification preferred.
• Strong attendance, reliability, and teamwork skills.
