Mission Valley Post Acute in Fremont, CA is hiring a part-time Dietary Cook to join our devoted dietary team. You’ll prepare nutritious meals, follow approved menus and dietary guidelines, and help ensure residents receive meals that are safe, appetizing, and tailored to individual needs.

Qualifications

• Prior cooking experience in healthcare preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines.
• Ensure meals meet residents' nutritional needs and physician-ordered diets.
• Prepare and modify meals to accommodate special dietary needs, including diabetic, low-sodium, and texture-modified diets.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection control, and workplace safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
• Properly store, label, and rotate food items to maintain freshness and comply with food safety standards.
• Assist with inventory and communicate food and supply needs to dietary leadership.
• Support meal service and ensure proper portion sizes and presentation.
• Work collaboratively with dietary staff, nursing, and other members of the care team.
• Help ensure residents receive meals that are nutritious, appealing, and prepared according to their individual needs.

About the Role

As a Dietary Cook, you will play an important role in preparing nutritious, appetizing meals that meet our residents' individual dietary needs. You'll work closely with the dietary team to ensure meals are prepared safely, served on time, and provide a positive dining experience for our residents.
