Encinitas Post Acute is seeking a dependable Dietary Cook to join our dietary team at 900 Santa Fe Drive, Encinitas, CA. The role involves preparing meals, following menus and dietary requirements, and maintaining high food safety standards.

Shifts available 4:30 AM–1:00 PM or 11:00 AM–7:30 PM. This position emphasizes teamwork, timely meal service, and resident well-being in a compassionate, regulated healthcare environment.

• Previous cooking experience preferred, especially in healthcare settings.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe handling practices.
• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and dietary instructions.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook meals according to menus, recipes, and dietary requirements.

Follow special diet instructions and resident meal preferences.

Ensure food is properly prepared, stored, and served at the correct temperature.

Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and food preparation area.

Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines.

Monitor food supplies and report inventory needs.

Work closely with the dietary team to ensure meals are prepared and served on time.

Assist with kitchen cleaning and other dietary duties as needed.

Qualifications

Previous cooking experience preferred, preferably in a healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care setting.

Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling practices.

Ability to follow recipes, menus, and special dietary instructions.

Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
