Solaris HealthCare Charlotte Harbor is hiring for a Full-Time Activities CNA. We are a 180-bed Skilled Nursing & Rehab Facility located at 4000 Kings Hwy, Port Charlotte, FL 33980.

The role focuses on preparing and serving nourishing meals in accordance with dietary orders and center policies, with competitive benefits and shift differentials. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and write required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nourishing and attractive meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
• Follow recipes and use nutritionally equivalent substitutes when required.
• Operate a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment; maintain sanitary standards.
• Complete work assignments and assist with special function meals.

Purpose of Your Job Position

The primary purpose of your job position is to prepare and serves nourishing and attractive meals and other foods as required to support the menu specific to diet orders and other center events, in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and Solaris HealthCare’s established policies and procedures.

• Reviews menus, production and prep guides to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared.’
• Prepares all meal items according to planned menus and standardized recipes in a sanitary manner to ensure the utmost in quality with a minimum of waste.
• Uses nutritionally equivalent substitutes when required.
• Operates a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment, such as blender, mixer, fryer, slicer, steamer, food processor, convection oven, stove, conventional oven, steam table and tilt skillet.
• Wash, peel, cut, and shreds vegetables and fruits to prepare for use.
• Tests and observes food by tasting for palatability.
• Slices portions of meat for individual servings.
• Follows recipes.
• Add gravies, sauces, and garnishes as required.
• Prepares and assists with special function meals.
• Completes work assignments.
